Title is pretty self explanatory. I work retail and we had 4 people unexpectedly quit all at once in my department and for two weeks we've been struggling to keep up, all while our department manager was on vacation. Store hasn't been in a massive rush to hire more people it seems as they only saw like one applicant and that dude failed a drug test (why we're drug testing when we're this desperate for help is beyond me). Today is my first day back since Saturday cuz we closed on Easter and Monday is my off day, and it appears the remaining people in my area called out yesterday and today, so it's just me and my returning manager. Is this situation a good enough excuse to just say fuckit and find another job? This place doesn't have merit based raises or competitive wages so I get no extra benefit from dealing with this bullshit and I've never just outright quit a job before, and I'm seriously contemplating quitting without notice. These folks have been decent to me but I'm dogsick of being here and I feel like I could get another job very easily. I live at home so I have next to no expenses. At this point I'm just looking for some form of outside justification.
