Should I quit my job – am I bring irrational?

Hi all, I am starting medical school next year. I'm 37 year old female. This will involve moving across the country from Melbourne to Perth. A lot has to be sorted out. I have to pack down my apartment, find a place in Perth and move across the country. On top of this, I am being singled out at work and truly hate my job. Hi all,

I am starting medical school next year. I'm 37 year old female. This will involve moving across the country from Melbourne to Perth. A lot has to be sorted out. I have to pack down my apartment, find a place in Perth and move across the country.

On top of this, I am being singled out at work and truly hate my job. They made me go back to the office 3 days a week even though the rest of my team gets to work from home because they live in another state of Australia. Recently my manager made me submit a sick leave request for 50 minutes because I had a doctors appointment. She absolutely does not make anyone else do that. They are now freezing my pay rise, saying that I need to complete a PDP evaluation. I did it 3 months ago and according to the collective agreement it has to be done within 12 months, which it was!

I recently found out that the CEO of the company called up some staff and told them that if she continues to hear people complaining about going back to the office she will give one warning and then fire them.

One of the staff called me to tell me this, at the time I was at work so I took the call outside and away from the building. Later that day I found out that one of the staff heard me on the phone and told the CEO that I was on the phone complaining about work. The CEO then called around staff to try and figure out who snitched to me. AM I IN HIGH SCHOOL? It's actually unbelievable that this happened. I still can't get my head around it. We don't have HR by the way.

I have 118 hours of annual leave saved up and a large amount of savings.

Should I just quit and enjoy the next few months of freedom before my life becomes 4 years of absolute stress from studying medicine? Or is it stupid to throw away money since I won't be working for 4 years. I should be able to get centrelink though (government payments for studying).

Thank you 🙂
