I've worked for the same corporation for 17 years. I like my job, and they pay me well, but not enough to tolerate the ignorance, incompetence, defensiveness, retaliation, and gaslighting (collectively narcissism) from my manager of the past 6 years. Plus they're making us return to the office. I'm leaving for a much better job (Yay, me!), but it's so bad that I'm prepared to leave with no prospects.
However, my manager has a new-ish boss who is refreshingly competent and insightful and will want deeper understanding of my reasons for leaving. This skip-level boss has been here just long enough to witness some of the broader, systemic toxicity and is already working on improvements. So basically, he's too new to have lost hope yet.
My question is this:
What's the best way to summarize the shit show for him in the hopes of improving conditions for the humans left behind? Should I send him the most recent records and tell him to figure it out? Or take the time to give concrete examples of her transgressions? Or simply fuck off with little notice and give zero shits?
I have about 4 weeks to slowly build the list of concrete criticisms if I choose to. What would y'all do?
