Hello everyone, this is my first Reddit post so I doubt many people will read this. I currently work for a very popular grocery store chain that is notorious for Union busting. I started working for this company full time about a month ago and have seen first hand how terrible the work conditions are. For the amount of pay that we are given, most of us cannot even afford the groceries we sell with the dumbass 20% discount that we receive. Recently a friend of mine reached out and wanted to help me unionize my job as they work for a organization who helps unionize work places. Although I am very pro-Union, I am scared that I will receive negative backlash for unionizing. I was wondering if anyone on here has attempted to unionize and has any tips to help me accomplish this. There are so many people working here that deserve to be paid higher especially since we live in a very expense city. Please let me know if anyone can give any insight into this!
