I got fired from my position last week on Wednesday, because my son had an asthma attack and I had to call out.
I am literally one paycheck away from homelessness, so I immediately began looking for new work.
Today, Tuesday I started my new position at a better paying job. However, it has a 120 day probation period, and 90 days before I get any health insurance. The girl training me was losing her voice and informed me that she’d been sick a few weeks ago, and quit taking her antibiotics without finishing them, because she was “already feeling better.” Now she’s worse. Within hours, my throat was scratchy and my body hurt. By the afternoon I was in legitimate body pain and felt nauseous and had to go to the restroom to vomit. I was told to leave early and not come in tomorrow unless I am feeling better.
I don’t know what to do, and I feel AWFUL.
