I was at a staff meeting this week. A number of participants were on the zoom call, working remotely.
One of our assistants was sick but signed onto the call. The team decided to give her kudos for not coming in to work to spread her “cooties.” They were actually proud of themselves.
I asked, politely, if she was sick shouldn't she be taking the day off. I mean we have sick pay, why is the company encouraging WFH when a person is sick and then celebrating that.
I was told to mind my own business.
