TLDR: Company isn’t hiring enough employees and is over working the staff. Want to unionize.

I work in a museum type environment we’re I give tours. These are seated tours and each tour lasts about 20 mins.
I have been doing this for the past 5 years and each year we get less employees and have to do more tours.
This year they barely hired anyone and the amount of sitting and talking we are doing is beyond reasonable.
While it may not seem like a lot we are sitting and talking for 2 hours straight, getting a 10 min break and doing another 2 hours. While it may not seem like a lot it is, especially when it is hot.
It is at the point people have quit and others use the bathroom excuse to get off.
It is a tour from a bus and we are sending 4 buses out with 5 guides. In the past we would have 8-9 guides for 4 buses.
When not driving we are managing the lines. So it isn’t like we are doing nothing.
THE IMPORTANT PART:
We are about 10 part time seasonal employees. While this isn’t my main source of income it is for many. During the off season they get unemployment.
Is forming a union a reasonable idea? Do I just get half +1 on board then speak to local unions?
