Sister got fired for demanding fair compensation.

My sister works at a shop ran by a “Christian family”, the own several shops in my town, she's been working there for more than a year under a contract stating that she was a “contractor” instead of a regular employee, that meant she didn't have benefits like retirement or health insurance. After working for a year, you're entitled to get a bonus for the time you've been working with the company, said bonus can be paid yearly or when you decide to leave the company. Well, she was told she was only getting half of that compensation since “family was bankrupted” (when they were traveling around the world and giving birth in the US to be able to stay there), my sister and her manager then refused to sign until the compensation was complete and they got fired for it. They also made employees work when all of them were infected with COVID and they refused to pay for medical leave (when it's mandatory to pay for that here in my country), they risked public health just for a few dollars and then fired people for demanding to be paid fairly.
