I was a caregiver for minors with I/DD. I had a client that didn’t like slow driving and preferred we go fast on the backroads on the way home. Basically i got fired for negligence and rightly so. I was fully in the wrong to be hitting corners like that especially with a client. Not gonna lie though we both had fun, cautiously. Thing is, to become an approved driver as a caregiver, we have to go through a process where we drive with the house manager and the insurance company checks me out. They fired me and said I’d be getting investigated for the negligence. Can it possibly come back on the company for not properly ‘screening’ me? Or is there a loophole they’d be able to go free with?
