So many job descriptions are utter nonsense.

I’ve applied for a supervisor position. On the job description it has complete gibberish such as “encourage the right attitude” and “motivate people to work hard”. Now, I have done supervisor positions before. Generally if you show you’re willing to go to bat for your colleagues (accommodate doctors appointments, treat them like real people etc) they will do likewise for you. Not once in the job description does it explain what the duties are. It seems they are being deliberately vague so that if you succeed then they can take credit for this and if you fail, then that is on you. The soulless corporatisation is what annoys me the most. Work is never fun let’s be honest but it should be bearable.
