Common guys, here's the reality. If you do the bare minimum required work, you should expect a cost of living raise. If you don't complete the bare minimum you probably won't get the COL raise and if your employer isn't a total piece of shit he will find your replacement. If you do more, absolutely you should get more! If your employer doesn't respect that, find one that does. Unfortunately you may work for the bare minimum guy or the sub standard POS. Isn't that what this sub about? Or is it for anti work never getting a raise cry baby soap box?
Let me know. As a previous employer I never took more money. I always gave more $$$ it hurt me personally but my employees were awesome. Now I'm the employee and not getting noticed, disrespected and no raise yet. I'm the most productive, efficient and knowledgeable. I'm respectfully fulfilling a two year non compete for no other reason to keep peace with my soon to be competitor. I'm learning what they are doing right and wrong then I will chip away at them. I'm in it for the long haul. Like the movie Now you see it, know you don't. That's why I'M here.
