Antiwork

So work are putting me in a tight spot.

Been at the company for 8 months. Honestly, nice people. Okay company etc just wasn't in alignment with my career goals. I continue to fully see if this is the case. Fast forward 8 months into the job – my wife (5 months after giving work) is suffering from mental health issues and even resulted in self harm (brusing). I tell my boss that I need to step away from work and that I'll most likely hand in my notice and look elsewhere due to the above reasons. He proceeds to tell me my notice period is 3 months – and I asked if they can whittle this down to 1 month (I need the pay between jobs) AND if I can work from home for most of this time. I'm not required to stay in the office at all to do my work… Anyhow he gets back to me…

Anyhow he gets back to me and says he and the director have been sympathetic to the issue and have reduced the 3 month notice to just a few days (3 days from now) – I said I was only looking for it to go down to a month as I need the paycheck + working from home for these days due to what my wife is going through.

He replies saying if i stay for a month I will be required to come in to the office everyday (where previously it was 2 – 3 days)
