Okay so I am usually all for worrying hard and doing my part even at the cost of my free time however today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I had an interview lined up with a solar company today, simple job but it seemed to pay well. I received specific instructions to meet the hiring manager at an office location. The email was very clear that if I couldn't make it to call hours in advance and reschedule as to not waste the hiring managers time.
Well I get on the road start heading to the interview about an hour early(30 minute drive there) its literally 100 degrees today. so I get to the location and its a freaking construction lot. I walk up to one dude and ask him if ***** solar is here or nearby.
Guy says no its one of the building over there somewhere gesturing to other building complexes. But its funny cause I'm the 2nd person to ask him today. So Im going to assume some other poor chap went through this same process.
So I get back in my car, I only have like 15 minutes now till my interview so I shoot off an email to the hiring manager saying I can't find it and if he had an alternative address or a phone number so he could guide me there.
No luck, so I drove around the area trying to find the address. I eventually found it 4 blocks down on the street over from where the address he gave me was. I walked in and the guys like “oh sorry we're not doing interview anymore, but you can apply again and come back another time.” I looked this man and just no thanks and walked out. It took me a long time to learn my worth and I refuse to work for a company or even give then the time of day if this is just the interviewing process.
Tl;dr: went to a job interview, was given the wrong address, and when I found the building was told to apply again and come back. Walked out without giving them the time of day.
