Someone told me that had the railroad workers gone on strike it would have been catastrophic for the country, and that these people are the essentially the backbone of our economy.

So why are these people treated like crap? It's interesting to me how we as a society have gotten to this point where we are so conditioned to have everything under a status quo: You go to the store and expect things to be a certain way, and now you order something online and expect it to be there in the time the screen says it will. Yet we are okay with those who are there to ensure things run smoothly are treated like dirt, berated, and told to “go get a better job” and further complain when those people do and things no longer run as smoothly. I don't understand. *Addendum: Does this show how much power the proletariat actually has if a looming strike is being threatened by police action and government intervention? πŸ€” Big Capitalism was quaking in their boots.*
