What do others do who don’t find themselves fitting into “the American way” working 40+ hrs a week just to pay for a house the bank owns? I have been self-employed for the past 4 years and have a hard time taking a job working for someone else. The bank won’t give me a new mortgage because of my ‘21 taxes were lower than my ‘20 taxes. The thought of taking on a $300k+ mortgage makes me sick and will definitely mean grinding out work for many years ahead. Considering living in a van or skoolie and traveling while raising our baby girl(coming in 3 months). Are there known communities of people around still who take care of one another, share goods, share services, etc. Not looking for some weird woodsy cult but there has to be something better out there than slaving away for 30 years to have a…
