America is so into TAKING things away from its citizens. We TAKE away Juul in our 5 decades waste of a war on drugs. We TAKE away a woman’s right to focus on anything else but fulfilling a role in society deemed outdated by the late 60’s. Hell, we even took away New York’s right to make it harder for concealed carrying a murder weapon (so much for state’s rights, that’s only if the state is further right than Richard Nixon). We could be GIVING citizens proper resources like healthy food and housing to provide them the option of healthier choices and to not feel the need for certain unhealthy vices. We could GIVE people proper education to make better choices for themselves and GIVE them resources like Universal Basic Income and healthcare so they don’t feel like terminating a pregnancy is the only option. We could give the American people all the perks and benefits and subsidies that go to corporations but instead we keep taking from them and forcing them into a reliant and often abusive relationship with jobs that they hate in a state and country that would rather clean their dead body off the street than put them in a vacant home that is owned by Blackrock. Republicans own religion and patriotism despite them most certainly going to hell and hating America more than Bin Laden. And democrats are happy profiting off of lobbyists and getting votes from leftists just trying to keep republicans out of office, so they don’t feel the need to actually improve anything cuz they aren’t as bad as their adversaries. At the end of the day we gotta realize that neoliberal capitalism had a fine run but just like feudalism, it is more fucking trouble than it’s worth and should really be replaced by now
