Spend over a month in an interview process only to find out I’m not qualified

Applied to a job back in April, didn’t hear back until October 25 and it was for a different position. They wanted to interview me, so I set one up. The hiring manager got sick, so the interview ended up being pushed back over 2 weeks from initial contact and happened on November 10. Finally had the interview, I thought it went pretty well, then the manager took a week off and didn’t get back to me until the day before thanksgiving. Didn’t get the job, inquired why I wasn’t moving on, and found out I wasn’t qualified. They reached out to me about this new position and had my resume. Why even bother wasting my time if they knew I wasn’t qualified?
