So I was with a craft store for about two and a half years. Gave a lot of time to them. I was an early morning worker and started at 4-6am most days. I recently left that job and decided it was time for a new job that provided better opportunity.
Got hired at this company that came across as really fun and personable. They seemed to really care about their employees! I get hired in and am told hours are flexible and I can do mornings no problem.
However it's my second day…and I'm scheduled to be a mid, essentially. Their hours don't begin in the morning. I was told sometimes I'd start as early as 9 yet apparently the position I was hired into doesn't start earlier than 11:30. That's afternoon to night.
I was also scheduled 12-5 my first day and then 12-6 the next two days of my training. I expressed before even being hired that I'm more comfortable arriving home before 4pm as I am the lady of the house. I cook, I clean, I take care of my family.
Does anyone else get incredibly frustrated when you're tricked into a company only to turn around and realize they fully lied to your face to get you in the door?
Don't get me wrong. Seemed like a fun job…but I'm not a teenager who has time to goof around at a job like this.
Even on my first day of training I wasn't given a uniform or my radio to work. I was basically walking around asking questions to anyone I could find and being given answers that should have been there from the start. I even got in trouble for not cleaning something when I don't know where anything is!
Not a good sign. Not sure if I should even bother with the next few days of training or if I should just cut them loose and move onto the next job.
