My current job is 24/7 on call with one day off a month and has a policy (for good reason, it’s a security issue) that if you resign you are walked off the property immediately. I got offered a new job and said fuck it, I’m just not gonna answer the phone until the fire me. If you quit you of course lose all benefits, if you get fired, you keep your insurance for 4 months. The guy in charge of the whole place has called me and my fiancé so many times we ended up blocking his number. Maybe one day they will realize how shitty they are but I doubt it.
