Starting a new job and it’s my first time working in an exempt position. What do I need to know about exempt work so that I don’t get taken advantage of?

If this isn’t allowed here, please let me know where I should bring my question. I’m starting my dream job soon- social work oriented non-profit, the opportunity to travel around the US, and remote work when I’m not traveling. The best part is that the salary is 64k vs the 38.5 I’m making now. I’ve only ever worked non-exempt positions. While Id like to think that this place won’t try to screw me over, I don’t really have enough faith to believe that about any job. Ever. All I really know about exempt positions is that they don’t have to pay you overtime, but you can’t work more than 12 hours a day. What else do I need to know to protect myself? Is there a cap on the amount of hours I can work a week? Is there anyone on here who has worked an exempt job and maintained…
