Starting a WFH position on Monday. I will be getting 34.5 days of my life back!

I start working from home next week and couldn’t be more excited. This morning, while in the shower, I decided to do the math to figure out exactly how much time I will be getting back with this new job. (Yes I realize I am a nerd lol) Anyway, I leave the house at 7:15 and don’t get home until 6:15 M-Th. Friday I am gone from 7:15 to 7:15. I don’t consider my lunches as free time, bc it is only a half hour and I work 45 minutes from home, so not like I can do anything on my half hour lunch besides eat in my car. So that is 56 hours/week eaten up by my job. My new role will be M-F 8-5 with an hour lunch. That hour I’m including as mine, since that is enough time to run some errands or do a quick workout…

Anyway, I leave the house at 7:15 and don’t get home until 6:15 M-Th.

That hour I’m including as mine, since that is enough time to run some errands or do a quick workout or play a game etc. That comes out to 40 hours that are strictly job time. Which means I will be saving 16 hours per weeks.

Now the fun math! 16hrs/wk times 52 weeks is 832 hours I get back. Divide that by 24 hours and it comes out to 34.6 repeating DAYS PER YEAR!

My friends, unpaid commute and lunch times were stealing an entire months worth of time from me! I am so excited for all the activities I can do!
