I live in NC. My job has declared that overtime can not be given until after 45 hours and everything under 45 is still normal pay.
Like I said, NC says that 40 and above is overtime. My company insist their rule supersedes the state law.
I am not an exempt employee, I am not salary, I have looked at the NC exemptions for this law and my job is definitely not one of them.
They have now said that each day is required to be at least a 10 hour day for a total of 45 hours a week, no overtime paid.
Is this legal? Am I in the wrong for thinking it's wrong?
