State reports record lows in unemployment figures — Republican Commissioner’s statements “…try to get more people in the workforce.”

A year ago, 4.1% of Georgia workers were unemployed. More than 5.1 million people said they were working in May, while 157,000 Georgians were unemployed and seeking work. Should the focus not be to getting most of, if not all of 157k back to work? Why not use all of your resources and funding to focus on the applicants who are out of work and actively seeking employment. Both the people who file and don’t file. I know some detractor from that aisle will say that’s impossible and unlikely. Yet, how in the holy hell can anyone expect or defend notion to try to get more people in the workforce to fulfill the scarcity, especially when there are many applicants available. This is an employer problem that many don’t actually want to fix. Wish they’d stop squawking about it.
