Hope I'm doing this right, don't post much.
I was talking to a boomer coworker today (who was wearing our union lanyard!). After complaining about Biden (which is totally fair game) he then told me it was nonsense that our city workers, including garbage men, were getting raises to $22/hour, saying that everything was going to cost more if they do that, and started mentioning fast food wages. I try to stay out of politics at the office, for better or worse, but I cut him off and told him “In Europe they're making that at McDonald's and a Big Mac doesn't cost anymore. It's because of Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk that things are costing more here, not the garbage men.” I wouldn't have had that on the tip of my tongue without this sub, so I wanted to say thanks. I don't think it changed his mind, as he just went off about how he tries not to buy from Amazon anymore. But still, thanks y'all.
