I have had a fair share of jobs in my life. And lately I'm starting to see a trend of work assigning online courses to finish at home for work without getting paid. Some jobs expect you to sit for hours and finish multiple courses of slow infographics and some stupid questions like should you do your work and use common sense or ignore it? Most of it is stupid common knowledge, but I will admit some offer valuable and necessary knowledge. However, I don't think its fair to demand us to do this in our free time without getting compensated. In the olden days we would go through courses in person and it would count towards our work time, but now its a given for every new employee to sit at home doing this courses for no pay.
Honestly, maybe its not that bad. But my course has this really old dude that spends half an eternity to finish a sentence. Spent half an hour and still haven't finished 50% of one out of 11 courses even though I'm just rushing through everything…
