I used to work at Subway and got told off for doing what a customer had requested.
What that you ask? I’ll get to it I was as the front serving customers when a father and his son were next to be served . Asked what they wanted and saw the father ask the son what he wanted can’t remember what is was but the father requested it be made a foot long, cheese+toasted.
Pulled it out the toaster and asked what toppings they wanted the father quizzed his son and from their I followed the sons directions. I then asked what sauces. the father asked if I could put one sauce one side and an another on the other side (it’s been cut into two like usual) I said sure thing and proceeded to do just that and the father paid for it happily and was leaving just when I was informed that I can’t put one sauce in one 6inch and not the other if it’s been purchased as a foot long. Needless to say I argued the toss, arguing we were told to keep customers happy. And how it’s actually still the same amount of sauce as one full sweep. What really pissed me off is the customer is allowed to have more than one sauce just not segregated. They came into the store a dozen more times and every time they wanted a foot long to share with separate sauce. And every time I’d see that smile and do it and forget I’m not supposed to. Only got caught like a couple more times tho. I assumed the threats were pretty empty and I was right.
