Strippers are tired of taking shit from club owners

I'm one of the dancers locked out of work right now at this club. This is all started when we delivered a petition to management, husband and wife duo who own the place. The petition demanded safer working conditions, as they had recently created a rule telling us that we can no longer go directly to security if we have an issue or a safety concern but that instead we had to go to them first to get their approval. Strippers need immediate access to security, and for security to intervene in order to prevent bad situations from escalating. Period. Additionally, they had fired two of their dancers, shortly before announcing this rule, because the girls had spoken up about customers filming nonconsensually, and customers being allowed to hangout after hours while we're getting dressed to go home for the night. Additionally, they had fired two of their dancers, shortly before announcing this rule, because the girls had spoken up about customers filming nonconsensually, and customers being allowed to hangout after hours while we're getting dressed to go home for the night. They think the customer is always right and they want us to forsake our personal safety so they can make a beer sale.

The owners own another strip club and a valet company. They are not a small business, but pretend to be. They received PPP loans for 40+ employees during the pandemic, but do not consider their dancers to be employees…?

According to the AB5 Act, in California strippers are classified as employees. Not only are we not getting paid as employees, they demand half of our lap dance money nightly. A nightly house fee is commonplace at strip clubs, but its a flat rate, not half of everything.

They locked us out of the club after we delivered our safety petition. We're currently picketing outside of their club in order to keep customers away.

We want our jobs back. We’re sick of enduring abusive work environments. Not just as strippers, as workers. Please sign our petition and donate to our action fund, it's helping cover expenses and time spent being on the picket line. It's crucial for us to be out there picketing and we need support. Please donate, share the links, share us on instagram, and at the very least please sign our petition.
