So I'm about to quit my job. I don't have anything against my boss as a person, and I actually like my team and lead (so I want to feel bad, kind of.)
In my state employers are not requires to pay out PTO upon termination. Complete horseshit, but I digress.
Company policy that we signed onto in the handbook says that PTO payout is contingent upon leaving and working a 2 week notice.
I've been with this company almost 2 years, and haven't gotten a cent of a raise. Inflation has effectively cut my pay by 11%. We are understaffed, overworked, and our meager team has supported our company growing from less than 1,000 to over 2,500 employees. Our workload is directly proportional to the amount of employees we support. We have not gotten a single extra body.
Fuck a notice. But also fuck you, it's my PTO and I earned it. So I'll be taking 2 weeks vacation, and immediately resigning on return. I feel slightly bad for my team, but I'm not the one who put them in a bind. Management keeping us understaffed did.
Thing is, I'd be willing to leave a notice if I got my PTO paid out. Fuck around, find out. I hope I get an exit interview.
