Hello! So, I was in burnout for pretty much the last bit of high school, all of college, and a year after graduation. I couldn't fix it because I didn't know that's what it was. I thought I was lazy, incapable, and a quitter. Turns out, it was a whack case of burnout that I think more than a few of us can relate to.
I think it's important to tell everyone here about this because most people don't want you to be educated on burnout for one reason or another. Mostly because resting eats into profits. BUT rest you must unless you want to live in a depression/anxiety hole for years.
The biggest takeaway I got from months of research into burnout recovery is that you're going to feel like a failure at first. Resting without guilt or shame after living in a place like America or the UK can be tough because you have to fight the inner monologue you've developed. It's also important to get all of the types of rest that you need (there are more than one, who knew).
I wrote an article discussing what burnout could look like and what you can do to treat it. My article is here and I would really appreciate if you could take the time to click on it so I don't have to work for crappy burnout-loving bosses 🙂
