Hear me out. The system is rigged against you. Most of the time if you work for a large corporation lawyers won't even take your case. They know that the corporation has alot of money and time and that's what it takes to win lawsuits and that you probably don't. The majority of lawsuits that do happen are class action lawsuits and in those the attorneys normally don't get paid until they win. When they do win its normally a huge number millions of dollars and almost half of that money goes ro the lawyers they get to pay themselves for the work they did and then they get a percent of the winnings after that. Then you have to split the rest of the winnings with the class. The average for the head of the class is around 20k. So the company pays millions the lawyers get millions and you get 20k. If your just a member of the class you probably get like 300. Company's know this and it is cheaper to do illegal things like make you work off the clock and then if someone sues they will fight it and if they have to pay it will be less than just paying you for working. Let's say you make 20 dollars an hour and over 15 years worked 40 hours off the clock a week. That's 144k that you should of been paid now times that number by the class say 500 people that's 72 million. If the company gets sued and that's a big if and they settle for say 30 million they just gained 52 million from you and you get a 300 dollar check and feel like you stuck it to the man. The system is rigged against us and it's even worse if it's the government that's is putting fines on the company for not paying you won't see a penny of that money that makes no sense so the company hasn't been giving you lunches and makes you work off the clock instead of the government making them pay you they fine the company 100s of millions of dollars and they keep it all not one penny goes to you.
