For context: I just started this job a week ago. My supervisor brags that he’s ‘one of the boys’ and that’s his management style. He’s even admitted to stealing from the work liquor before to me (on my first day). I work with my spouse now and he told another one of my younger coworkers that the higher ups don’t like how touchy feely we are and that I don’t do what he tells me to do in the back kitchen. Mind you, I spend 99% of my time asking where he is as he’s my trainer (he’s an expert at disappearing) and no one knows most of the time. He doesn’t cook the food correctly (the line chef is constantly angry at him for the food being lukewarm and unservable) and he does things like drink and smoke on the job. I confronted him today and asked him what issue he had with my spouse and I (I unfortunately found out after that confrontation about him saying I wasn’t doing my job) and of course he has nothing to say. He said everything is fine instead of being a supervisor and correcting the issue-it seems like he’d rather I just get in trouble by the big bosses than be a proper supervisor. Also mind you, none of the big bosses have said anything to either of us so I’m at a loss. It’s been a week! Sorry I just had to rant about this as I’ve never been in a situation like this before.
