Trying to get a friend to quit his job for his personal safety, but he needs the money. He recently got injured on the job (not terribly, but it necessitated a run to the ER) and his manager told him “when they ask where it happened don't you dare say at work”.
The owner of this small to medium business has freaked out in the past when someone got hurt (was on crutches a few weeks) because they had to pay workmens comp, so she pressured the managers to not let any more claims be made.
Friend cannot afford the medical care and time off to heal. I told him to tell the manager it needs to be workplace comp, but if he does they'll fire him.
What can I say or do to help my friend?
