My boss had a team meeting today with all employees required to attend. She went over policies, changes, and other bs. And she said that starting from now, on a call out for being sick will require a doctor’s note, and 3 or more days off she will need to see diagnosis/ test information of the illness. She also said, “according to labor laws if I don’t receive a doctor’s note within three weeks there is the possibility of termination”.
I don’t who she thinks she is- it’s a small business, she has 14 employees right now and is always short staffed. Threatening termination is a great way to treat the few good employees she has. And what about HIPPA laws? That isn’t legal right? My health information is none of her business. And I’m not going to the doctor to get a note when I’m actually sick.
She never shows any appreciation or thanks us for our hard work, it’s pretty funny how she acts like she’s a big CEO or something. Even when I worked at a huge company, a doctor’s note wasn’t needed. I’m just angry at the audacity of these bosses and how it’s so hard for them to treat their employees with a little respect.
