Finally i have a story to tell on theme for this Sub.
Not long ago my HR rep was making the rounds at work having every employee sign a greeting card for a grieving employee who’s brother died of cancer very young.
When the card came to me i simply asked who the employee was and if i knew them. Turns out it was someone high up in the company who works for Corporate. Id never met this person or even knew their names.
I was disgusted but signed the card anyways to not look like a dick. But it really stuck with me. Who tf does that? Farms out sympathy for THE BROTHER OF AN EMPLOYEE to lower level employees? Like wtf they didnt even work there…
The balls it takes to even send that email. To expect someone to go to the store, pick out a card for someone who died who none of the employees even knew. Then spend company time trying to explain to everyone why this is happening.
