So I just learned that the place I work (a private owned company) averages 13,000,000$ every single day. Thirteen million a day. At a single location. But they can only afford to pay me 12.50/hr which is exactly 100$ a day for 8hrs.
They have a little over 800 employees in total. So let's say 300 per shift. If everyone gets paid 12.50 that's 150,000 a shift or 450,000$ per day. Now of course very few people make 15$/hr. And an assistant manager makes a hair over 100,000$ per year.
Even still. Out of 13 million and they can't afford to pay us something livable?? 12.50/hr is not possible to live on your own, by yourself i.e a living wage.
When a company is making that amount of money laws should be put in place to make them pay people more. Maybe we do need _some_ communism after a certain wealth point.
