An ex-colleague of mine was in the same position, pay grade and under the same Team Lead. He left on secondment and I thought he would never return. Today, we heard he is coming back soon, but as the Manager of our business unit and hence his previous Team Lead will now be working under him. It is unclear if the Team Lead applied for the manager position as a couple people in leading positions in our BU may have applied.
Anyone have any similar stories? What happened in those cases? I can imagine how awkward this might be for the Team Lead if he had applied.
