Team’s head goes to the UK. Abuses his availability of work laws.

My country has absolute trash work laws (India). Thats why western companies outsource to us to overwork the already cheap labor. My team’s manager was given a secondment where he went to UK to work with the client. This guy always asked us to go over and beyond and work 12 hours without over time. Now he in UK and is paid per hour. He works 8-9 hours a day but wants us to be available at UK time. This means, working from 9-11 for us in India. When I brought up how you are abusing us and taking advantage, he mentioned this is how you learn. Teams director said you can go away if you dont like it. But this is how things will be now. Only silver lining is I will immigrate in a few months and leave behind this toxic work environment in the country.
