I have never worked through a temp. agency before and I'm currently on an assignment that's about to end November 1.
My boss has only made verbal promises to keep me on by extending my contact-nothing in writing to me formally or to the agency I'm with. I've only seen her in person twice. The day I started and yesterday bc the department is now back in the office on a hybrid schedule.
As my time draws closer to the end I've talked to some other people in the office and managers and I've asked about openings. Of course this got back to my manager and she isn't happy. I told her she's made nothing official so I need to look out for myself and she didn't take this well.
I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone has faced this issue before and if what I did was out of line or if I've over stepped. My position would be considered a lateral move but with more opportunities to grow.
