Terrible experience, why don’t companies look at your skills instead of what type of degree you have!

I was at a job briefing process and I was invited after I applied. After the presenter briefly described the role and info about the company, he said to take an aptitude test. When I asked if I was eligible to take it because they invited me and it was something else that they said they wanted during the briefing process. I am from a poor background and so I needed the job. I had the bachelor's degree in business but they wanted either an engineering graduate or an MBA for the role. It was firstly an “on the job training” with very meagre salary but they didn't even gave me that opportunity. I felt so worthless. Shouldn't they firstly even let me have an aptitude test Or even an interview but no, the guy bluntly said “No”, I just am fucking depressed and anxious.
