tf is the point anymore

I work a job where I'm paid 15 base pay an 16 incentive. As long as I show up, and don't leave early I get the 16. If I have to take a day off, leave early or show up a little too late then I don't get it for the week period. I figured out today why though, is because we rarely work a full 40. And my position seems worthless and not needed. I work in a warehouse putting away long term stay items. I got paid, overly meager check since I probably pulled maybe 28 hours because my step dad was in the hospital last week and I went to see him, and I've only just got myself water for work, gas, and not even technically groceries. Just a few frozen burritos and square pizza for lunch over the weekend, and a couple of toiletries and food…

Just a few frozen burritos and square pizza for lunch over the weekend, and a couple of toiletries and food for my cats. And my insurance is do, and when all is said and done I'll be lucky to have maybe 38 dollars left. I was damn near crying in the checkout line because it shouldn't be like this. My wife shouldn't have to compromise on her lunches, nor should we have to compromise on toothpaste or food for our cats. Since when did the American dream go from working a full 40 and being able to afford life and then some, to scraping for hours at a MUTLI MILLION DOLLAR food distribution center, and not being able to even live paycheck to paycheck? And the sad part is, I live in the cheaper part of the state and my city. What's the point? My wife and cats deserve so much more, and I can't even provide the actual necessities for life? And I'm sorry this post is so long but it pisses me off even more when I think about the fact that if I came into some money, and went off the grid the government would still want it's pound of flesh. I'm sorry guys, I just needed to rant, because I'm at a complete loss as to how we've let it get this bad. Y'all have a good weekend
