The last two jobs I've applied for, both times the HR person failed to get to back to me in the time frame they said they would.
Applied for a freelance editing position at a company, required taking an editing test. I have to do it in 24 hours, which I did, and the managing editor said they'd get to me within two weeks at most. It took three weeks to finally get back to me, and only after I sent a follow-up email, followed by a second one after 24 hours of no response.
Job I applied about four months ago was worst. The HR manager asks me for my availability over the next two weeks for an interview. I give them the time and date for an interview two weeks out, and it takes them a friggin' week just to confirm the damn interview time, and only after I send three emails. After the third, the HR person said they're would go back to me by the end of day, only for me to have send a fourth email the next day after not hearing back.
And both times, do I get a simple apology for keeping me waiting as I'm playing financial Tetris with my bills and wondering what the hell is going on?
Nope, it's “thank you for your patience.” Any other employee would be fired if they were this late at their tasks, fuck hiring managers.
