Looking on here I have noticed a lot of the same things. Reposts of this idea “nobody wants to work anymore” (mostly jokes addressing this) many of us work our butts off for years multiple jobs long hours. To work full time 40 hours is our 100%. Meaning when we do more that time has to come from somewhere else hence why we get burned out. We cannot keep letting this low paying culture of a “grind” continue.
I hope that the economy doesn’t throw us into a state of desperation and we keep the momentum up. The reality is this will never change if we get desperate. We will be finically struggling anyways, so mine as well do it and promote positive change. We are at the point where we need to do something. For years we just got complacent with all of the violations of our human rights by private companies. We have not been heard.
Hell we in the US work so much we are shut out of the political system to vote bc we can’t afford to miss work or are exhausted, or we feel what’s the point, they are all corrupt, and we certainly can’t research candidates bc we want a break from stress. Every year the non voting population exceeds the voting population.
Do we not think this was by the design of employers? To shut us out from participating so they can have people remain who they like or vote in buddies that then hurt us. Who do we think has the time to vote has been the one picking in charge? You got it mostly the people who do not experience the hardships we have. Who has time time to vote on a Tuesday with enough control over their schedule and money to not be overly stressed. The same people who get to participate in the stock market 9-5 M-F while we do their work.
How do we fix this problem bc prices aren’t going down, wages not going up, amount of jobs we need to survive isn’t going down? These problems aren’t even discussed by politicians or the media it’s always distract. This system in the US is broken and not working. It is fixable. We need to stand up to greed. This can’t be our life of work ( do what you hate) barely have enough to survive. Then when a crisis happens out of our control or in some cases the result of the greed we are told we are lazy or not good enough for help. This is unsustainable.
