The American tipping culture is so incredibly backwards.

The employees get underpaid and rely on the company getting business in order to even have the opportunity for other workers to pay their salary because their employer certainly doesn’t. They get no say in how the company is run, so if management messes up, their pockets may just run dry. Management will never care, and the employee is working for wages that don’t even pay for half the cost of living. Problem is, by tipping, I perpetuate the culture, but by not tipping, I am punishing the employee for the owner’s decisions to fatten his own wallet. I mean, I am curious as I am not extremely familiar with tipping culture in other countries, but how do other countries fare?
