So this week I received confirmation from HR that the pay rise I was put forward for will happen at a reduced rate.
When I questioned why the pay rise is different to every piece of paperwork I've been given about this they just told me that the paperwork they'd been given recommended this amount.
Turns out my Department head told my direct manager that despite training myself through covid to do a very legislation heavy job, taking on extra roles outside the scope of what I was hired for, modernising our workflow process and handling singlehandedly the upskilling of the whole team based on modern standards for the industry; that extra 500 a year I had been put forward for wasn't justified and we were all getting our living wage increase anyway and “I stand a good chance of achieving that raise next year if I work hard”.
Well unfortunately I'm a petty man. That extra 50 a month he saves on his labour line will be eaten up by hiring and training my replacement.
Onwards with the job hunt.
