i don't know why ive never seen it calculated by yearly income rather than by hourly wage. i made $8/hour in my first job in high school so seeing $7.25 isn't that shocking to me even tho it's sooo low.
but as an adult, seeing that another adult could be working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, no days off, and take home only 15k makes me want to cry. that's a bonus at my company. even 30k/year has ppl living in their cars where i am. in exactly what city can a human being survive on this??? can someone please name one bc im very close to just giving up on america completely.
