I don't mind work in itself, I mind the fact that I have to make multiple times what I need to support my lifestyle due to guidelines on how mortgages/leases/renting works. I cannot decide for myself that I want to work harder in order to have a better house and car, nor can I decide I want to live a minimalistic life and work less. I have to live comfortably below my means due to a perceived duty to society to spend large amounts of my income on local amenities like bars, takeout, and restaurants.
