The gung-ho/overly enthusiastic work mentality is cringey

All these Linked-In recruiters and posts talking about “exciting, fast paced work environments” and “amazing/incredible opportunities” is cringey. People publicly thanking their companies for things is cringey. “Wow, thank you >company< for being awesome and allowing me to work for you, working here is great!!!!" People patting themselves on the back for every little thing online is cringey. Why is it so bad to just want to work to pay for the things you enjoy doing? I'm not working because I love it, I'm working because it pays and allows me to afford the things I actually like doing.
