So the end of last of last year I quitted a job that I had been at for about 2 years. I quit due to bad management and we were overworked and paid minimum wage. When I quit I handed in a one month notice to give them a heads up and did everything properly with no BS or trying to cause a scene.
A week later I was cussed out by my boss for quitting and when I brought up the issues I have at the job they didn't take it seriously and made excuses. After cussing me out they somehow told me they're sorry for what happened then told me they hope I will stay without offering a raise, additional compensation, or addressing the issues.
Recently I heard from my old coworkers that still work there that the store is shutting down soon and they have to get new jobs. Since they kept hiring earlier this year, there are new people who has barely been there a few months and now they have to get a new job too. There are actually other branches of the store nearby, but my old coworkers said to work there they would have to apply as a new employee so they would have to fill out an application then go through an interview. I know someone who has work there for years and seems like even that person has to get a new job or apply to another branch.
This made me realize if I would have stayed, nothing would have change all this time so I would be dealing with the same problems as before and eventually if I were still there now, I would have to find another job or something else to do anyways. So like most workers, I'm disposable anyways.
