At one of my previous jobs, I had a very cool manager who'd go above and beyond for his team. One time he send a very long email about our next quarter's plans. I thought the plans were very interesting and also contributed quite a bit, so I read the whole thing. Turned out he hid a secret message saying “the password is chocolate ice cream for free lunch”. I was the only one who found it and got free lunch 🙂
I now work at a different company where the team is basically reinventing itself ever since I joined because we now have enough people and time to do that. My manager and senior manager both show a lot of interest in the things that I do besides my own work and said they were watching my recordings, but I had doubts if they were genuine.
For the past 6 videos and 3 emails, they haven't found any of the secret messages… It's disappointing, to say the least… This time I didn't even sugarcoat it, I put it at the very start of the video.
I know it's maybe a bit childish but it really sucks to find out that people were lying all this time…
