Cut my leg at work, gets infected, I go to the next door Urgent Care they clean it give me a shot. $185 total, not great but without insurance not too bad, especially for NY. They prescribed some antibiotics so I then walk to the local CVS to pick them up. The receptionist says the total for the two will come out to $226. They tell me to look up GoodRx which I’ve used before, but never saw savings like this..in total I paid $29.74 . It took me no more than 1 minute to look up the free discount, and I saved almost $200. I’ve always known big pharma was a huge scam, but seeing it play out personally was an eye opening situation.
